in a way that’s profound
meaningful yet disgraceful
a fixture of renown

bloodied by the Man who saved me
from my evil wicked ways
that crimson flow from a true God
stained the cross while He prays

about the sins of the whole world
to heaven who sent Him
"It is finished!" this work of Christ
outshines the world so dim

by proving to mankind His love
dying for one and all
He expressed His love on that cross
heeding His Father’s call

now and forever more it cries
victory over sin
the demise of Satan is fixed
by Jesus who ne’er gave in

providing the way to heaven
the journey begins here
salvation’s path leads to glory
from a life we must share

that Jesus is Savior and Lord
a God who reigns as King
triumphs o’er the cross meant for slaughter
it’s now a precious thing
